What is the three-jaw surgery?
It improves the complicated issues through the three-jaw surgery with the protruded mouth surgery and bimaxillary osteotomy.

It is difficult to treat the case with the protruded mouth impossible for the general surgery and severe short chin by the bimaxillary osteotomy.

The three-jaw surgery can improve complicated symptoms at once by combining the protruded mouth surgery and bimaxillary osteotomy.

The three-jaw surgery has more osteotomy parts than the bimaxillary surgery and is difficult requiring precision. Therefore, it is important to select a clinic for the precise surgery based on the accurate planning with no error of 1mm and 1 degree.

Surgery Method
This surgery combines protruded mouth surgery and bimaxillary osteotomy to improve both the protruded mouth and short chin.

1. Extract 4 premolars behind the canines and then cut the protruded ulitis.
2. Push the ulitis and teeth to the proper position to correct the protruded mouth.
3. Bimaxillary osteotomy moves the receded lower jaw forward.
4. Perform the chin tip advancement surgery to move the tip of the chin forward.

TIP
Why the three-jaw surgery is more effective than the chin tip advancement surgery for the patient with severe protrusion and short chin.

1. Chin Tip Advancement Only

In the case of severe short chin, the entire lower jaw is receded and has a short tip of the chin. In this case, if only the chin tip advancement surgery is performed without bimaxillary osteotomy, only the tip of the chin becomes protruded while the lower jaw is receded, thus forming an unnatural chin line.

2. Three-Jaw Surgery

The three-jaw surgery performing both the protruded mouth surgery and bimaxillary osteotomy simulatenously improves the protruded mouth and short chin as well as completing a naturally chin line.
